Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 1, 2026

Invoke is built by Myna Bird LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the Invoke desktop application and the getinvoke.dev website collect, and what they don't.

The short version

  • Your audio never leaves your machine. All transcription happens locally on your GPU or CPU.
  • No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking in the app. Invoke does not phone home.
  • Two network calls: license key validation (LemonSqueezy) and update checks (GitHub). That's it.
  • The AI reformatter sends your transcribed text (not audio) to the LLM provider you choose. You can use Ollama or LM Studio for fully local operation.
  • Privacy Mode: One toggle disables all network-based AI processing. Your text never leaves your machine.

Data the app collects

Nothing. Invoke does not collect, store, or transmit usage data, analytics, crash reports, or any personal information. There is no telemetry.

Network requests the app makes

Invoke makes exactly two types of network requests:

  • License validation: When you activate a license key, the app sends the key and a hashed machine identifier (derived from hardware IDs, not personally identifiable) to the LemonSqueezy API for validation. This happens at activation and periodically (every 30 days) to verify the license is still active.
  • Update checks: The app checks the GitHub Releases API for new versions. No personal data is sent — it's a public API call.

AI reformatter

If you enable the AI reformatter, your transcribed text is sent to the LLM provider you configure:

  • OpenRouter — your text is sent to their API. See OpenRouter's privacy policy.
  • Claude CLI — uses your local Claude Code installation.
  • Ollama — fully local. Nothing leaves your machine.
  • LM Studio — fully local. Nothing leaves your machine.
  • None / Privacy Mode — text is used as-is with no external processing.

You choose the provider. You can disable the reformatter entirely.

Local data storage

All app data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is synced or uploaded.

  • Config — %APPDATA%\Invoke\ (Windows), ~/.config/invoke/ (Linux), ~/Library/Application Support/invoke/ (macOS)
  • History — Local SQLite database in the config directory. Stores transcribed text only (not audio). Auto-expires per your retention setting.
  • Crash logs — crash.log in the config directory. Contains only the Python stack trace. Never transmitted automatically.

Data the website collects

The getinvoke.dev website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand traffic patterns. GA4 collects standard web analytics data (page views, referrers, approximate location, device type). No personal information is collected beyond what GA4 gathers by default.

Cookies set by GA4:

  • _ga — anonymous visitor ID. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_G-6TH81W7C68 — session tracking. Expires after 2 years.

You can block cookies in your browser settings if you prefer not to be tracked.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This transmits your IP address and user agent to Google when the font is loaded. No cookies are set by Google Fonts. See Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Our lawful basis for analytics is legitimate interest in understanding how visitors use the site, to understand how visitors use the site.

Payments

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. I do not store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or other payment details. See LemonSqueezy's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

Your data rights

Since Invoke doesn't collect personal data, there's nothing to delete or export from the app. You can delete all local data by removing the config directory listed above. For website analytics or payment data questions, contact us at support@getinvoke.dev.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CCPA)

Invoke does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. GA4 analytics data is used solely to understand site traffic and is not shared with advertisers or data brokers. California residents can contact support@getinvoke.dev with any CCPA-related requests.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top and note what changed. For material changes, I'll mention it in the app's release notes.
